The accommodation is a gorgeous newly renovated two bedroom Victorian split level flat, with original features, including fireplaces and a free-standing bath. Sleeps four. Located on the second floor of an iconic Sussex building, at the end nearest the beach, all windows look out to the sea. The bedrooms face east towards Hastings and look out to the beautiful Grosvenor Gardens with it's bowling and putting greens, as well as to the sea. The living room and kitchen face south and west and look out over the channel, and the common where the world-famous Lido used to be. The bathroom looks out west - you can lie in the bath and watch the sun set over Beachy Head.
Kitchen
A modernist kitchen with a ceramic hob, microwave, fridge and a table with chairs, this is a cosy area to sit and eat, or even write. Units designed with the sea and sky symmetry in mind, adorned with a window facing the sea - never will cooking or washing up be such a pleasurable experience.
Bathroom
Transformed from a lurid neon-pink mouldy artex hell into a stunning Victorian style bathroom, with it's original fireplace (decorative) and metro-tiling. The pièce de résistance is a roll-top free standing bath in which you can luxuriate, lie back, with a gin-and-tonic and a bag of chips, and watch the sun set over Beachy Head. (nb: The toilet is separate, so take your time.)
Bedroom One
A large, light space with a queen-sized bed (two separate mattresses for a better night's sleep), and cool 1960's decor. There is a little balcony outside of the window, you're welcome to climb out, at your own risk. From the bed you can watch the sun rise (if you're an early riser - or haven't been to bed yet) over Grosvenor Gardens and let the sound of the sea lull you into a state of calm. Peace, man!
Bedroom Two
Just as the other bedroom, but with an extra window that looks out directly to the sea, and an original Victorian fireplace (decorative). It has a double bed and antique furniture.
Living Room
Gorgeous sea views, you're practically on the beach (albeit two floors up). With an eclectic mixture of mid-century and antique furniture, and unique bamboo flooring (at time of writing new to the UK), this displays the owners differing stylistic tastes, coming together in perfect harmony. There are some carefully curated sea-themed films that you're welcome to watch (please leave them for the next guests!). The icing on this living room cake is the vintage boat shaped bar.
